Your fingers should be moving while your hands only hover above the keyboard.

When learning new musical pieces, it is a good idea to practice only a couple of measures at a time. Never be afraid to repeat those measures as many times as you have to in order to get them near perfection before moving on. Take special care to make note of your mistakes and try very hard not to repeat them. Play slowly to begin with and increase your speed only when you feel you have mastered all the notes. The time and effort you put into practice will pay off in your becoming an excellent piano player.
